Hike the Sutter Buttes Middle Mountain Interpretive Hikes provide access to the privately-owned Sutter Buttes valleys, hillsides, and peaks. Guides share its unique origin and history and examine with you a natural ecology that has become increasingly rare in our time. The different hikes and diverse guides each offer a singular experience in the Buttes.
All of the hikes are educational experiences. Offered most weekends from late October through mid-May, in two seasons and require pre-registration. The fall season schedule is posted around October 7 and the spring around February 7. Hikes range in price from $35-$60. Charter outings are also available for groups of 10 or more.
Bullards Bar offers unique 5 hiking trails ranging from 0.7 miles to 14.0 miles in distance. The trails at Bullards Bar can be accessed from several different trailheads. There are plenty of wildflowers, ferns, a variety of pines and firs.
About 4.9 miles this trail is located near Beale Air Force Base. The trail normally takes between 2-4 hours. The two large waterfalls at the end of the hike make this moderately easy trek well worth the time.
The Bobelaine Sanctuary Trails Loop is about 5.3 miles long and located near Nicolaus, California. Great for bird watchers and outdoor enthusiasts. Bring your binoculars, over 190 bird species have been identified here.
