12 miles south of Yuba City, one mile from Highway 99 on Laurel Avenue. Open daily during
daylight hours. Information kiosk and parking lot. No fishing, hunting or pets. Walking birding
trails only. Mixed riparian forest along Feather River, herons, egrets, mallards, wood-ducks,
hawks, owls & other wildlife await wildlife photographers, bird-watchers, students, naturalists,
artists & all interested in nature.

Daugherty Hill State Wildlife Area

17 miles east of Marysville. Highway 20 east to Marysville Road, north to second Dolan Harding Road
intersection. Parking lot is one mile south on Dolan Harding. 4,200 acres. Hunting, hiking and biking.

Gray Lodge State Wildlife Refuge [Map] [Website]
12 miles west of Live Oak. Attracts millions of birds annually, especially waterfowl migrating along
the Pacific Flyway. 8,400 acre refuge has scheduled tours on weekends. Group tours by reservation,
auto tours. Limited fishing. Restrooms, parking lots, information kiosk. For tours or information,

Spenceville State Wildlife Refuge [Website]
The refuge lies 19 miles east of Marysville on Hammonton-Smartville Road off Highway 20. 11,213 acres.
You will find a shooting range, archery range, turkey hunting, trails for hiking, horseback riding, and cycling.
Shingle Falls, or “Beale Falls,” offers a challenging one-hour hike and popular swimming hole. Year round day use.
Camping from September 1 through to March 15.

Six miles southeast of Yuba City on Oswald Road off Highway 99. 2,591 acres. Hunters need permits or
reservations during waterfowl season. No auto tours, blinds or viewing station.
